In the first part of our "Synergize with Metadata" row, we showed you how to create personalized news streams on your wiki dashboard, bringing together Metadata for Confluence and Enterprise Theme from bitvoodoo.
But that's not all that can be done with Metadata. Adding those additional information to your wiki-pages gives you the possibility to:
- create a structured documentation, e.g. IT-documentation.
- set up knowledge bases like a product directory.
- deploy macros which are based on CQL, like the content report table.
On top of that, our partner Comalatech offers the add-on Comala Workflows, which can add approval processes to each of those use cases in Confluence.
Comala Workflows and Metadata
The integration allows the Metadata add-on to act as a value reference supplier for Workflows.
Example: Predefined metadata field for who's allowed to review and approve of new content, used in Workflows as value reference.
The ability to utilize metadata in building workflows gives space administrators a flexible tool for customising the approval process of their pages. Users familiar with the Comalatech markup language will find working with metadata easy to incorporate into their workflows.
